Gettin' ready to go, uh oh!
Gettin' ready to go, uh oh!
I leave for Nashville (Victor Wooten's B/N Reunion Camp) on Friday in
the afternoon and I've been getting ready all week. I thought I was doing
well and that I could get everything packed up and ready by Thursday so I
can just go play my gig, come home and pack up the bass, and get up on
Friday ready to split.
Today I even went out and bought a very nice tent to make sure I don't
get flooded this time out. All the music business stuff in town is a mess
and all the people I work with are nuts but hey, at least I get paid to put
up with them all, and I get to set it all aside for a couple weeks.
Tonight the news ran a story that certain flights are being cancelled to
make sure they won't fall out of the sky. I came down and checked my info
and sure enough, I booked tickets on one of the crashy planes. They are
supposed to announce further cancellations in the morning.
So, do I hope that my flight is not effected (and hop on board one of
the busted planes) or figure it will be cancelled and pray they can find
another plane to Nashville on Friday?
Oh well, as long as I get there with all my camping gear and bass and my
tent is not filled with water or struck by lightning, I think I'll count it
a successful trip. Anyone know what the weather is like in Nashville this
month?
Time to crash, I'm still going to bed on Portland gig time but getting
up at Nashville morning time and so far it's not pretty.
