Behringer Power Amps?

Behringer Power Amps?

Have any of you had any experience with Behringer's power amps? I'm
putting together a sound system for the church I belong to, and so far
we've purchased two QSC RMX-series power amps, which are excellent for
the money. But the Behringer power amps offer more power for less $$$,
so I was considering getting them for the two additional amps we will
need. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

They are the best bang for the buck in power amps, bar none. They've
been quite reliable. I'd have no hesitation having either amp in a
rack, and given the price difference, yes by all means save your money
and go with the Behringer EP1500 or EP2500 over additional RMX's.

Re: Behringer Power Amps?

We had a soundcraft blow up on us when some twat of a club presenter used
the switch on the mike when we said don't touch it - we'll fade and lift you
from the desk... anyway the soundcraft couldnt be fixed in time for the next
gig and our back-up (also soundcraft) was not powerful enough for FOH....
Walked into local muso shop prepared to buy any amp that would do for that
night, did a cash deal on a display behringer 2500 and been faultless in
service over last 150 hours use............at their prices you can just
throw away if they go wrong.

Have an EP2500 in one of my bass rigs...been booming steady for almost three
years now, no issues. Clean as a whistle too.

Re: Behringer Power Amps?

I have a EP1500 and 2500. When I bought the 2500, we had to finish the
first gig with only the 1500. The sparks and the smoke was awful. I
got a replacement and this one works well.

Would I buy Behringer again. Yes, but I will always push it hard for
at least 10 hours before going out with it.

We have three 2500s in the rack with nary a squawk. I have quite a bit of
Behr gear and will buy more. Stipo

Thanks for the comments guys! I have a couple of Behringer mixers (20
channel and 10-channel battery-powered) plus an effects unit and all
three have performed flawlessly. Just wanted to make sure before I
pulled the trigger on the power amps - I just placed an order for one
each of the EP1500 and EP2500 models.

The Behringer amps are almost identical to the QSC ones, it seems likely
they are designed and built in the same Chinese factory?.

It's handy, because QSC provide circuit diagrams, and Behringer don't -
but you can use the QSC diagrams for repairing Behringer as well.

You don't say....
In other words when you buy a Behringer you're supporting thieving
bastards who crank out knock-offs? Did I misread or is that
fundamentally what you just said? Behringer is actually cheap knocked
off shit, eh?
Who knew?

Uh... I've seen the insides of both. They're not the same. They're
cosmetically similar on the OUTSIDE.

QSC has never sued Behringer, even though I've seen a number of people
on RAP who think they should've... until they saw side by side pics of
the insides.

They're quite different monsters.

No, it sounds to me like he's saying that if you buy QSC you're paying
premium price for a Chinese knockoff of a Behringer.

No, I'm saying that BOTH Behringer and QSC are buying these particular
units from the same Chinese manufacturer - neither are' knocking off'
anything - simply buying a product from the original manufacturer.

And you'd still be wrong.

Behringer owns their own factory now and produces them themselves.

QSC RMX's on the other hand are by all accounts OEM'd.

I'm aware Behringer has a facility in China, but does then mean that
EVERYTHING is produced there?.

Even if it does (which seems unlikely), it doesn't mean they haven't
licensed the design from the Chinese manufacturer that QSC buy them
from.
