Of course y'all realize that the person who submitted the ad and the
guy in the picture can't possibly be the same person.

With that in mind, I can go two ways on this one:

a) it may be a not-terribly-witty attempt to poke fun at a guy in a
photo with his (or someone else's) admittedly ridiculous bass.

But if it's

b) one by a disgruntled bandmate who actually knows the guy, the guy
actually is worthy of such lampooning, and posted it to their local
craiglist just to vent some frustrationwell THEN, by god, we've got
something to chuckle about.

Given the lack of capitalization in the post, I sense a generation Z
attempt at a) though.

I especially like this line from the ad:

if you play the bass better than i do, you can have my house and
everything in it (i have a dog)

Either a or b, I thought it was hilarious.

I go with a) too. But it is a hoot! One or two years ago there were
people getting their picture taken at NAMM with diving board basses. I
suspect that this is one of those (or perhaps the guy actually bought
one <shudder>) Athough it's a different guy and bass than the Namm
photo I have, the idea is the same. Yeah, I loved it.

Wait til his mom finds out he plans to give the house away :)
