band breakup
My main band will do the next 3 gigs, then stop all activities. After
5 years, I can say that it's a good thing. Sax player no longer wants
to play with us (he has better gigs and family is priority). The new
keyboard player is not very good. The guitarist is still alcoholic. We
never got the 12 gigs/year we always wanted. No one will miss us.
I'm still playing with that oldies band with an awfull website. It's
fun and I don't have anything to carry except my bass and the SansAmp.
They always hire for sound and going direct is just what I like (plenty
of monitors on stage). When we hit the last chord of the last encore
song, I pack up and ready to go in 10 minutes.
I really hope I'm gonna find a band that plays the kind of music I like
to listen to... Or I'll start the project myself if I can't find any.

Start your own. But, if you think it'll take X amount of time to gather the
right people, rethink it. It's at least twice your best guess, and it sucks.

I agree.
I gave up on trying to find people who like what I like many years
ago.
I'll play what ever the singer sings and in any key.
It's all about entertaining an audience.
