Anyone using the Hartke Bass Attack VXL pedal?
Anyone using the Hartke Bass Attack VXL pedal?
I've seen reviews on H-C and the retailers, but wanted to know if
anyone here is using (or has used) one of these as a dedicated preamp
straight into a power amp, and if so, how you like it.
I've been kicking around alternatives to add some more character to my
very clean sound, and this (at $70 shipped) looks awfully good.
Experienced opinions very much appreciated,

I've got one that I don't use mainly because I use an Ashdown preamp
these days ( * w w w .ashdownmusic . com /bass/detail.asp?ID=2). If you
want, I can create a few sound clips with mine. Hit me up at JimOnBass
at the same domain as I used to post this.

I own one myself; it is a very gadget, and it is built like the
proverbial tank. It's not great on all my basses, but it does work very
well on most of them.;)

Thanks, Jim. I've actually heard some clips online, and I don't want
to bother you for more. I'm more interested with whether anyone has
had issues using it as a dedicated preamp rather than just an effect,
going straight into a power amp, since that's how I'd be using it.
Also wanted to know if it worked well as a DI, too, though I didn't
mention that in my original post.
