Simple but effective!

Simple but effective!

Hiya Guys!

I haven't been playing Bass for long and I'm often astounded when I see
players whizz around the fret board at lightning speed - Amazing stuff!

Then, whist I was listening to the Radio this morning, I remembered why I
love the Bass so much.

The song itself (sorry people) is pretty poor! It's "Yes Sir I Can Boogie -
Baccara" and here's the You Tube link.

* w w w .youtube . com /watch?v=KGuFn0RPgaE

The simple use of the chromatic scale in the fist 60 seconds does it for me
and I wonder, given the song whether I would have 'invented' such a simple
yet effective line!

Anybody got any other examples of simple but very effective lines?

Regards,

Debi :-)

Re: Simple but effective!

I see it fine here in the UK

Just do a general search "Baccara" "Yes Sir I Can Boogie" and you'll find
it.

Another Simple & effective favorite of mine is Sylvia by Focus,,, it's just
magic!

Debi

Absolute #1 - Time Of The Season by the Zombies!!!!
I also like
Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode
Stir It Up - Bob Marley

All lines you could identify the song by in a heartbeat, but very simple

In A Gadda Da Vida

What I Say, Ife, Black Satin and other Micheal Henderson with Miles
Davis riffs. Four notes apiece.

Shining Star by Earth, Wind, and Fire. He mostly plays just roots but
dang its good.
