Michal Anthony joins Sammy Hagar

This sounds interesting - looking forward to the album:

Singer Sammy Hagar has formed a new band with guitarist Joe Satriani,
Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith and former Van Halen bassist
Michael Anthony. The group, code-named Chickenfoot, will enter the
recording studio in September. "We've written eight, nine songs," Hagar
said. "When people hear the music, it's Led Zeppelin. It's as good as
that. I know that's a mighty bold statement... We could rival Zep."

Sounds like an incredible line-up...too bad they have to have Sammy
Hagar bellowing...err, singing for them. Yeah, singing, that's what he
does. Doesn't sound like a cat being murdered at ALL, WHO said that?!

Sammy put together some good stuff both with and without the Van Halen
brothers. "Three Lock Box" is a good album, of its time.

And Howlin' Wolf started that vocal style... :)

I saw Sammy on the Three Lock Box tour. Not that impressive. He sounds
pretty good on vinyl, but he's always had this bad habit of writing vocal
parts he can't pull off live.

Back on the subject of the group.... This is a bass forum, isn't it? Why is
Michael Anthony's name brought up?;) And Bill "electric" Church? Come
oooooon!!

All in good fun...
