I was the lone worship leader at a church, and when we got a (better)
guitar player I switched to bass, but still sang lead vocal. It took
a lot of practice and the fact that I knew all the songs *very* well,
to get it right.
So, if you think singing the lead and playing bass is hard, try
singing harmony (not a bass harmony) and playing bass at the same
time. I did that on occasion at the old church, but at my new church
I am strictly the bass player who occasionally sings high-harmony.
Again -- the harmony lines have to be known *very* well. It takes a
lot of practice.
