could have even the vaguest resemblance to them or their product.
OTOH, it also makes sense. Bill Lee has said that the success of Monster
Cable is not in creating a superior cable, but in "creating a market where
none existed". In other words, their snake oil pseudoscience CREATED the
need for high end cables.
To their credit, they have a well made, heavy gauge cable with a lifetime
guarantee..But so do 10 other companies for at least 1/2 the price.
And there I think is the crux of their litigation. In order to preserve
their market share and keep their astronomical profit margins, they need to
bump off any other cable that has a similar look - which would be ANY heavy
gauge cable with gold connectors.
This would be like Fender threatening every other guitar maker who uses 6
strings and frets in their design.
