Best way to dump a body?

Re: Best way to dump a body?

I wish we had a big enough selection that we could be choosy.

#1) Took 5 days to ask his wife if he could come to practice on a particular
night. By the time he called back, it was two days before the prospective
practice night and everyone else had already made other plans. He said 3-5
day response time would be typical for him.

#2) Couldn't play his way out of a paper bag. Said he needed two weeks to
"perfect" a medium tempo blues tune. And shuffles? Fugettaboutit. Goodbye.

#3) Three days before first audition, decided he didn't want to play drums -
he wanted to be a singer.

#4) Spectacular drummer, but vanishes mysteriously. That won't go well for
him in a small town where everyone knows everyone.

You know, I really think you should go round to his house, and take
witnesses with you, and possibly a first aid kit.

As John said, that list tells me your difficulty is finding someone at
your level of expertise that also shares your objectives and level of
commitment. Not that the world is full of dickhead drummers.

That would be the real problem in a small town. The "spectacular" guy
was likely just fishing for more networking possibilities in a bit of
downtime. Of course, it is true that it would have been better for him
to exit gracefully.

I guess I'm just used to better manners. I just got a handwritten card from
the curtain & shade goddess at JC Penney, telling me my special order shades
would be delayed a few days. That's what I'm talkin' about.

Flip a coin, dude. Now, however, no matter where he shows up dead, no matter
the reason, no matter the perpetrator...

this post is evidence against you.

I *SO* hope other people hate him, too...

;-)

Oh... one question -- are there crabs in the water?

Apparently. I treated him badly. I asked him if he could make either
Wednesday or Friday for practice. I'm sure my cruelty was a major factor in
his disappearance.

Well, see... that's the problem right there. You gave him a choice. I know,
I know... you were trying to be nice. Anyone with half a brain can see that.
But, as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Next time, just tell him the rehearsal is on "Mac and Cheese Day". He'll
know right away it's on Wednesday...

If you have gone through 4 drummers in a month there must be a reason
for it.
Something about musicians...and I hate it...Most of them don't have
the balls to tell you what they are not happy with.
They just ignore you.
Try to figure out what the problem has been and rectify it.
4 drummers in a month is not good odds.
I know these guys...Tony and Vinnie.

Part of the problem is many musicians specifically say they only want to
jump into an "established band". Why do you suppose that is? I have my own
theories, but I'm interested in yours.

I think this is more true with drummers and bass players.
If you know ten classic rock songs you know 100 so it is easy for them
to jump in to a gigging band.
Many bands are basically jam bands and easy to play with and that's
what most drummers and bass players are looking for.
For these guys it's not musicianship but playing on stage.
They are not willing to sit down and learn new, complex songs.
Most classic rock/jam bands bore me to death.
How long can you play 12 bar songs?

Agreed. So, I guess my band is chasing drummers because many of the songs
require actual effort & thought. The rest of the band is enjoying the work.
The search continues....

Lemme get this straight -- this guy has gone missing, no one's seen him
or heard from him in days, and you're posting on the internet that you
need a good way to dispose of a body? For your sake, he better turn up,
alive and well, very shortly.
