Tonetony:
I used to have a PSA-1.1. Not a half bad sounding unit, especially when
used to record direct. If I remember correctly, vs. the PSA-1, the PSA1.1
has an on/off switch, more user-defined preset slots, and a trim knob for
tweaking the input level. Soundwise, they're very similar (at least that's
what I was told by folks on a variety of newsgroups). I used mine with a
1X12 Power Engine 60 (which I still have) which was a very good combination.
Although I very much liked the unit's versatility of usable sounds, trying
to keep the overall levels consistent across patches was a pain. It also
seemed to lose some of its magic when used in a band context. I also think
that it's a bit pricey. Nonetheless, IMHO I think that the PSA eats the
variety of digital modelers for lunch. In all fairness, the modelers also
give you effects in the same package. No effects on either PSA unit. Hope
this helps!
