EC's Crossroads FX Yay or Nay?

Many thanks for those who posted on my RP300 "lost in the sauce" Wot's
the deal? posting. Some local "experts" told me pretty much the
same. So I checked out a bunch of "analog" effects today. Most were
heavy metal super fuzz distortion crap............. but I did like
the EC Crossroads..... question is, will I run into the same "lost in
the sauce" issue in a playin' live environment?

Regards,

Check the original thread again. I just posted something this morning
that may help you.

The Crossroads pedal may give you the same problem you're having with
the RP-300.

What are your effects needs? It sounds like you don't need metal
distortion. But you mentioned needing several effects in the last
thread. I don't think the Crossroads has that many, does it? Just the
leslie sound on "Badge" and a little chorus on "Reptile". The rest of
the sounds are either various distortions, cleans or acoustic sounds.

Do you need reverbs, phasers, flangers, delays, wahs, etc? I'd
recommend using these effects sparingly (I didn't say don't use them,
just don't let them wash out your sound). Wah is the exception. It can
actually help you cut through a mix.
