True stereo delay pedal/box with tapdelay

True stereo delay pedal/box with tapdelay

I need a true stereo delay pedal or box with tapdelay and some 1½-2 secs
of delay, and the option to be able to select a predefined delay setting
plus use the tap feature as needed, i.e. having separate buttons for
those two functions is preferred.
If a box with such features is not readily obtainable, I can arrange
out-of-the-box buttons to implement what i.e. a mode switch may do.

I'd prefer a stompbox over a programmable rack thingy, but I guess I may
have to go the rack way, in which case I wouldn't mind pointers.
Most likely it may be a less expensive solution anyway, and will surely
provide other nice to have's.

Thing is, I don't use delay as part of programs, but rather mostly for
shorter expressions at will, no matter which program I'm into.
Given that kind of use, a rack thingy, used the way I want, may require
a separate midi chain to control it.

I've been looking at TC Gsharp and Lexicon M200/300. Dunno about the
Beringer ones, cirtainly cost effective...

Gsharp aren't true stereo; it'll sum L+R to mono and output stereo.
Lexicon M200 seems to be stereo on some effects, but will process
others mono-in stereo-out. Don't remember how M3xx does it.

You look at any of the Line6 stuff?

I was just going to suggest the DL4.

...not sure if it has true stereo input, if that's what you need. I
know it'll do stereo out.

I was also going to suggest the DL4. It's true stereo input and output
(except for the loop sampler, which sums the input to mono).

Thanks! I own it, but have never tried stereo input.

Tnx guys, took a quick look at the DL4; still need to lend it an ear.
I really like the three configurable presets and the option of a
continous controller. Seems to be what I'd need.

But (isn't there always a but?)... as with many other fun toys, shopping
those features in a pedal seems way expensive compared to a rack thingy.
Plus I'll have the audio routing from my (still rather small) rack
back'n'forth to this baby.

Track down an old Quadraverb... Stereo ins and outs... MIDI.. As
programmable as you want, but, doubt it has the tap tempo..

Then why get a pedal? Go with rack gear. Theres' some great stuff that's
currently unfashionable you can get for good prices.
