Wireless transmitter for acoustic guitar

Could anyone recommend me a high quality wireless transmitter for
acoustic guitar that is clean and hi-fi and yet at a reasonable price?
(range at least 30 yards)

(Please stick to recommendation from your personal experience, and avoid
PR hype driven or philosophical "recommendations")

Thanks,
LS

Re: Wireless transmitter for acoustic guitar

I've been using an Audio Technica 1027 guitar system for about 7yrs works
great, body pack has been dropped inumerable times and I've never had a
problem
I think most of the new stuff is UHF and should be even better sounding.

Re: Wireless transmitter for acoustic guitar

I've looked into Audio Technica ATW701G 700 Series Wireless Guitar
System, and its spectral band is from 100 Hz to 12 kHz.
Considering the fact that low E note is at 82.4Hz, it may not deliver
the low end well. Any idea?

Re: Wireless transmitter for acoustic guitar

I think you would need to spend a little more to get something you are going
to like and use for the long haul.
My suggestion is to take your guit to the store and try a bunch out and how
much of the tone you are going to lose.
You will always lose something of the guitars sound, but the trade off in
not being tied down to one spot is well worth it.

Try a calibrated mic and real time analyzer on your guitar. While 82Hz
is the primary frequency, we're hearing mostly harmonics.

That being said, watch out for differences in how a wireless will
perform with piezo output. I'm not sure if or what the difference will
be, I've never tried my old Sampson true diversity on my A/E guitar.

As with most gear, as quality increase so does the price! I'm not sure
that you find flat response, long range and CHEAP in one package. I can
say that that little sampson true diversity worked great with electric
guitar, when I used it. I never did try it on my Super Reverb, but on
the Marshall it was pretty transparent. (The cleaner you play, the more
you will notice impact in tone.)
