My, how time flies.
I think it's been close to two years since my last post on Usenet. You can
imagine my surprise when I got an email from a particular Mr. Johnson,
tipping me off that there was some troll chatter about me - again - on the
groups, and to assure me that it *wasn't* him. (And it's not him. I know
his posting style very well.)
It was no surprise to find that the troll behind these recent defamatory
post was the same character who posted some vulgarity about me on the Plexi
Palace Vintage Amps Forum. Yes, it's a moderatated group, and yes his 5th
post there (ever) got yanked. That's what happens to trouble makers there,
and it happens quickly. Consequently, we have very little trouble from the
trolls among 10,889 happy registered users.
What did surprise me (I don't know why) was the fact that this troll is
currently digging up posts, containing opinions of an amplifier I had, which
are close to 8 YEARS OLD! That has to deserve some kind of Darwin Award!
Let's see . . . what else can this fella come up with? "old", "redneck",
"can't play", the typical sexual inuendos so prevalent among trolls who
simply run out of valid and/or intelligent things to say. I don't know why I
find this guy's posts so comical, but I do. I know we're not supposed to
laugh at the expense of the . . . well, nevermind. ;-)
But I feel I have to say THANK YOU to Mr. Fraken/Cross/WhateverSock. I'm
totally flattered that I've made such a lasting impression! Thank you for
getting my name out there to more people. Thank you for the publicity, and
thank you for pointing people to my humble website. Here, the readers can
learn the truth about who I am, what I do, what I don't do, and how well I
do - or don't - do it. I'm truly in your debt. As they say, "bad press is
better than no press". And, thankfully, most folks here are intelligent
enough to spot what's going on after just a couple of posts, such as yours.
To those of you have written kind words about me, in response to these very
unkind posts, I owe you a very special and different kind of thanks. You
can be sure, it hasn't gone unnoticed. Heartwarming may not be the best
word to describe, but it's the closest I can think of at the moment. Thank
you, truly. And I guess, again, we can thank the troll. :-)
Best Regards,
Kent Pearson (the real one)
