Question 8 on "Sample Test 2" of the 2008 California DMV Handbook

Accidents often happen when:
A) All vehicles travelling at about the same speed (wrong)
B) One lane travelling faster than the other lanes (wrong)
C) One vehicle is travelling faster or slower than the
flow of traffic. (right answer)

Now, will you admit that travelling at an unreasonably
slow speed ( as you claim you do) is just as dangerous
as travelling at an unreasonably fast speed (Which you condem)?

OK, since you so kindly asked (heh-heh, heh-heh, butthead):

This relates to a turnpike I travel twice a year.

On the Will Rogers Turnpike in Oklahoma the posted speed range is a 75
mph limit and a 50 minimum. Of the speed choices posted below, which
are proper on that road (made it multiple guess so it's easier)?

A: 80.
B: 76.
C: 75.
D: 55.
E: 49.
F. 41.

Most drivers would agree. I suspect Aunt Judy would strongly disagree.

Girl friend (if that word OK to use for folks born in the thirties)
were going to Las Vegas. She was driving at 5 MPH or so above the
speed limit and getting passed every few seconds. I took over and she
insisted that I hold to the SL. I got passed by THIRTY cars for every
one I passed. I was scared shitless! Eventually, she said that I could
boost it by 5 or 10 MPH, if I wanted to. You bet I did.
Come to CA or NV and drive the way you claim that you do. This NG will
be one contributor less, I expect. It might be from death or an attack
of common sense!
