Passive-Aggressive MFFYs

Passive-Aggressive MFFYs

You know the type: you'll be on a residential street approaching a
T-intersection with a Yield sign. Ahead of you is a passive-aggressive
MFFY who was quite content to go 30 MPH (in a 25 MPH zone) until he
noticed you were behind him, at which point he IMMEDIATELY dropped his
speed by 10 MPH. At the intersection ahead, P-A MFFY is turning left,
and you're planning to turn right. The street is easily wide enough
for two cars to pass without conflict, so of course what does the P-A
MFFY do? He CENTERS HIS CAR on this side of the street, taking up as
much width as he possibly can, and he comes to a COMPLETE STOP at the
YIELD sign, even though there is no cross-traffic, no pedestrian, no
NOTHING. He stops because he wants to make YOU stop and wait; he
enjoys exercising his momentary bit of power over you. Or maybe he
resents you because you're younger, better-looking, and driver a nicer
car than he does. Who knows what motivates these P-A fucks? All we
know is that they are very, very real and very, VERY annoying.

But this particular PA-MFFY is about to get his come-uppance: although
he tried to block the entire width of the street (without LOOKING like
he was trying to block the entire width of the street), he has left
JUST enough room for you to squeak by on the right and make your right
turn. Of course, you saw this situation developing, so you didn't tip
your hand by signalling your right turn too early; had you done so, he
most certainly would have pulled farther to the right in order to make
his LEFT turn. As P-A MFFY comes to a stop, you SPEED UP, flip on your
right turn signal, and FLY past him on the right, squealing around the
corner with millimeters to spare. PA-MFFY, who was of course watching
you like a hawk in his rear-view mirror with a smug smile on his face,
makes a fecal mess all over the leater seating surfaces in his Buick
Park Avenue when he sees your car on an apparent collision course with
his. It takes him a few seconds after the you have flown harmlessly by
to realize that there has been no collision, and that PAYBACK'S A
BITCH!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Naw, a hobby would involve me going out and LOOKING for this stuff.
The reality is I do my best to avoid it, but IT FINDS ME. I genuinely
enjoy driving my car, and I enjoy driving the most when there are no
other drivers around to fuck things up. My new office is about twice
as far from my house as my old one was, but thanks to the (mostly
empty) toll road the drive is only 5 minutes longer and an order of
magnitude less stressful. Worth EVERY penny of the $2 in tolls I pay
in each direction.

Some of you may have noticed a sharp reduction in my MFFYCam video
output. Now you know why. :)
