Transfer time at Luton?

Transfer time at Luton?

I'm flying to Amsterdam this summer, and was thinking of taking the
Silverjet flight from NYC, and transferring to EasyJet at Luton.
Taking into account the terminal layout and current security issues,
how much transfer time do I need to clear immigration and re-check in?

Have you considered the train from London to Amsterdam?

What? Why on earth would you do that? It is _much_ more expensive
than the plane, it is _much_ slower - especially if you're at Luton
airport to start with.

Schiphol is a pretty efficient airport - I'm generally on the train
within 15 minutes of landing including waiting time for the train.

With EasyJet, I'd book a flight 4 or more hours ahead to be safe -
they let you get on an earlier flight if you're there and there's
space - and there probably will be space unless it's a busy time
(football match in AMS or something)

Have you considered that a one-hour flight from Luton to Amsterdam, plus
check-in time and transfer from Schiphol to the city centre, is likely
to be quite a lot quicker and also rather cheaper and *much* easier than
getting a train from Luton Airport to Kings Cross Thameslink, getting
the tube to Waterloo, checking in for Eurostar, taking the train to
Brussels, then changing to a connection for Amsterdam?
