Can you still carry duty free whiskey on-board?

I'd rather waste a bar of soap than a bottle Glenmorangie or Bushmills.

It's never wasted. Many TSA employees enjoy soap and fine liquor.

Yes, they usually bring it to you at the gate...

You certainly can all over Europe and Asia and the Middle East.

Not sure about the USA.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

Or a pen.

Or a tightly rolled magazine, or a compact disc (CD), or a long bootlace, or
anyone of a dozen or so things that pass, unnoticed, by TSA everyday.

You'd think that with so many convicted felons working for TSA, they'd be able
recognize the potentially dangerous stuff more easily.

You don't even have to sneak these through security, the airline will
provide one free of charge if you forget.

3oz isn't silly at all. It seems a perfectly reasonable amount to
carry with you for a week's holiday

If going for longer than that, you'll probably need to check a bag
anyway

Yes, it is silly. It's not the size that's silly. It's the fact that
it supposedly restrict terrorists from doing something dangerous
that's silly, and it's the fact that it requires passengers to go out
of their way to find those odd tiny containers at the grocery store
instead of simply packing what they already have.

No problem. Interesting about toothpaste. The officials in Perth
debated for 5 minutes whether or not to confiscate my toothpaste.
(Normally that's in my checked bag but because I was only in Perth a
few days I used strictly carry-on.) I kept telling them it wasn't
worth the hassle; just throw it away and let me through. But it was
the first day of their restrictions so they had a conference to set
the rules. They let me keep it.
