That is usually correct, but there are times when it makes sense to take
preventative measures. For example, here in Phoenix, the summers kill
car batteries which almost never make it past three summers. At the
start of the third summer it makes sense to replace the battery instead of
waiting a couple of months and getting stranded. They tend to fail without
anything warning also.
