Let me try that again, I am trying to come up with an asking price for a
set of SSR Competitions in 16X7 inches with no tires.
They have about 35,000 miles on them, never bent and no curb rash.

I think that they were $350.00 each when the previous owner bought them.

Thanks!

Pat

I'd think about half retail would be a good starting point.

Tirerack has them in 16x6.5 right now for $269. 11lbs is really light.
They look similar to my Rota Slipstreams, which were cheaper ($125) but a
couple of lbs heavier (13.5 lbs IIRC).

A person I know just got Rota Slipstreams for his other than Miata.
They look really nice and are what I would buy if I were looking for
wheels.
Seems like a good compromise on weight and price to me.

You can check prices AND weights of Rota wheels here:
http :// www .racinglab,com /wheels.html
The Slipstream is 13lbs
The Speed 5 is 12.75lbs, the ones I was looking at.
They don't give weight for all the wheels.

Miata wheels are here:
http :// www .miata,net /faq/wheel_weights.html
My 1992 wheels are 12.3lbs

I don't mind aftermarket wheels on a Miata because, even though I think
aftermarket wheels are really fugly, the stock wheels are pretty fugly
too.... <sigh>

You think that all aftermarket wheels are ugly, no exceptions? Wow!

I don't like how the 1990-1993 style wheels look, but I think that the
later edition OEM wheels look OK and some aftermarket wheels out there
look as good or better than anything that comes stock on the
best-looking cars in the world, imo.

I'm sure there are exceptions but I haven't seen any.

Yes, I'll agree with as good or better. A really fugly aftermarket
wheel can look as good or better than a really fugly stock wheel, of
course.

The only OK wheel on the Miata is the early steel, I haven't seen any
alloy wheels that look better than a luke warm "OK".

I like these:

http :// www .astonmartins,com /feltham/db2_4.htm

The car looks OK too, I'd swap the Miata for it....

I figured that wire wheels were on your list of what is good-looking. I
think that wire wheels are ghastly-looking on any automobile.

Also, vintage cars are fun to look at. Maintaining an inefficient
dinosaur that only gets 140 horsepower out of a 2.9 liter engine is not
my idea of a good thing.
I'll take the more modern Miata, or another more modern car any day for
my daily driving.

You have absolutely NO taste at all!

You are confusing no taste with bad taste. One look at my wardrobe will
verify the latter. :-)

My luck runs in a similar fashion.......

I stand corrected.

I have very good luck (so far), and I appreciate it!
