Issue with DesignTech Remote startersHello,
We recently had a remote car started installed on our car. It seems to
be working fine but with one exception. After starting the car
remotely, you are required to put the key into the ignition and to put
it to the run position in order to put the car into gear a drive away.
When placing the key into the ignition, once you turn in and hit "acc",
the engine make a noise and shuts off. The noise sounds almost like
the starter engaging again on a running engine.
We went back to the installer to see if something was wrong and he said
that this was "normal" and that after remotely starting the car, the
only way to "drive off" was to shut off the car and then restart it
with the key. That does not sound correct to me but wanted to see what
others thought.
the car is a 2000 Toyota Echo. The car starter is made by DesignTech
and has a mdl# of 23926.
Thank you for any help or information.
