Being a native speaker of English doesn't guarantee you will be able to
teach English.

Far, far too many with predictable results!

No, definitely not! From my experience, natural born teachers are rather
thin on the ground! Even a basic certificate in TESOL or TEFL would
provide some grounding in educational theory

They learn it parrot fashion, if at all, without any real understanding
of the underlying grammar with the end result that they don't really
speak or understand English very well at all. In most countries, such
activities are labeled as "fraud".

Totally and utterly wrong! If the person doesn't have experience "and"
training, the students are being ripped off.

A lot but that is no guarantee they can teach either. Experience in an
industry doesn't automatically provide one with teaching skills.

BEd + Industry training qualifications.
University lecturing, Technical training, In-House training in my Govt.
Department.
Recently retired and now doing part time tutoring of OS students.
As well, I am a native born speaker of English but I would not even
think of teaching English UNTIL I had, at the very least, a Certificate
in TESOL / TEFL.
