Thailand & neighbouring countries

Me & the wife are planning to travel to Thailand for
sightseeing/vacation.

What are the good places to visit in Thailand - sightseeing
& other stuff?

Also what other neighbouring countries are near Thailand & can
be combined with a trip to Thailand?

That's a very broad question. Thailand is a pretty large country with
big cities and very nice beach resorts and lots of ancient sites.
Maybe you can go to the library and read up a little on Thailand
first.

The metropolitan region is the only one which constitute a big city in
Thailand (Bangkok, Thonburi, Samut Prakan and much of Chonburi).

Seems to do a better job of it than you!
What's up Larbie? You've totally knackered SCT to the point where hardly
anyone posts because of you and your mates. Now you want to start on RTA
as well.
There's certainly no limits to your talent for destroying newsgroups!
You seriously need to get a life!

Now it looks like I will need to killfile you in RTA as well!
Let's hope you don't infest too many more newsgroups!

******* Nothing better to do with you life again Krypto????
Idiots like you are the scouge of newgroups, they just whinge and
whine and contribute nothing.
You want to killfile me? Fine. Why the urge to broadcast it to all and
sundry?
Why not just do it and carry on with your sad life?
Of course, you want recognition, you want someone to pat you on the
head and say what a good chappie you are for clogging up the net with
your whining.

Okay. Good boy Krypsis for telling Larbie where to go.

Happy now?

Grow up son.

"...&other stuff" ... perhaps you might want to get a little clearer
first what you want to see and what not and then come back again. A
guidebook (Lonely Planet or Rough Guide) might be a good idea.

OMG - Take a look at the globe!!!

Sounds like you pick your travel destinations with a dart arrow, not
nowing where your destination is, not knowing what other countries are
around and not knowing what to do where you want to go. Wrong approach
IMHO.

Get a guidebook and some basic knowledge about your travel destination and
come back when you have more specific questions which can not be answered
by your guidebook.

Re: Thailand & neighbouring countries

Buy (or borrow from your local Public Library) a Lonely Planet Guide for
South-East Asia and have a good browse.

Re: Thailand & neighbouring countries

Look through the various trips offered by the tour operators ex-BKK
[Imaginative Traveler, Explore are examples.] Perhaps you will see an
itinerary of interest which you can join or simply follow on your own.
Personally, I'd go to Laos before it becomes too commercial [a la Siem Reap]
but your tastes will differ.
