Thrustmaster Formula Pro Digital Wheel + XP not working!?

Thrustmaster Formula Pro Digital Wheel + XP not working!?

I have a Thrustmaster Formula Pro Digital wheel ... have had if for good 4
years now as I play GPL with it. Also I'm running Windows XP, which I have
been for good 2+ years. The wheel worked perfectly fine on my system, but a
few months ago I had to get a new Motherboard, and therefore had to
re-install XP.

The other day I wanted to have a go at GPL and could not figure out how to
make my PC see the steering wheel? It's connected via USB port, but plugging
in it does not make XP notice it (ie. no sound, no icon in the status bar,
no prompt). Going into 'game controllers' (under 'control panel') does not
show my wheel, and selecting any other wheel/control device always comes
back with "not connected".

I did try and look at Thrustmaster website for help/FAQ, and nothing there
helped. ... I even installed the latest drivers from them (ie. NASCAR Pro
Digital 5.2.exe). It made no difference. So now I uninstalled them again.
Also closest thing under their FAQ was to make sure that the USB ports are
not disabled, but I'm sure they are not as I use these for other devices
(ie. digital camera) and they work fine. Also I found mentions of "Human
Interface", which should appear under 'Device Manager', though no such thing
on my PC ... closest thing there is "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", but
no "Human Interfaces" listed.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the wheel working (again) with my
PC/XP? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions that may come my way.

ps. I'm running Direct X 9.0c, have 4 USB ports in my PC, and also have a
USB hub plugged in, which has another 4 USB ports.

Did you happen to check in your bios and make sure all the USB/USB2 ports
are activated? That is a common problem.
