How do I get Speed Channel?

How do I get Speed Channel?

I live in a rural area where cable will never be available. I know I can
get Speed in a package with Dish Network, but I don't want all the other
channels that it comes bundled with. Is there any way to get just Speed
Channel with a large dish? Thanks.

Re: How do I get Speed Channel?

I doubt it very seriously. You always have to have a minimum package with
any service.

Have you checked out DirecTV? That is what we have.

I got it with Direct TV. I like sports in general and they offer many
packages. I got the FSN package (costs about the same as one premium
channel) and get about as much as I need, more than I need according to my
wife.........:-). Direct TV just announced a premium service for Nascar with
in-car cameras and radio for next season through ESPN/ABC. Our ABC affiliate
does not have HD yet, but ESPN will be all HD. Hopefully Speed Channel will
go HD soon. That would be great.

Why would you want the Speed channel, it's just NASCAR all the time - it's
not near as interesting as it used to be, when it was Speedvision.

Agreed, SPEEDTV sucks.
I watch it very little nowadays. Just Bullshit NASCAR, Bike/Car Buildoff,
Corbin Rideon/Commercials for feck'in cookie cutter rubberband drive
choppers, and the feck'in worse of the worse PINKS!, Unique Whips &
Bobsledding

No wait a minute, it's that feck'in guy with the handlebar mustache!

No wait it's that NOPI program that's the worse.

See what I mean? feck'in BULLSHIT!

I just download all the racing I want to see from TV caps mostly EuroSport
TV, No commercials and less babbling overpaid announcers.

Re: How do I get Speed Channel?

I like Pinks, though Christiansen is a bit scary. It's best when the racers
fight :)

I USED to like the genre shows, like Two-Guys Garage and Dream-Car Garage,
but over the last two years they have basically turned into infomercials for
their sponsors. Hardly any process at all is shown any more.

Their live racing coverage is actually pretty decent.

Right now, it's a Ghost town. Will probably be that way until next year.

Best genre show they had, bar none, was that UK show 5th Gear. That was an
awesome show. The people had character, and were a blast to watch.

Don't know why we don't get it any more :(

Unique Whips? Now there we can definitely agree. The only thing
fascinating about that show is waiting to see what dumb-ass thing Willie
will say or do next. I'd be able to work for that smart-ass for about 5
minutes before punching his lights out, and I am not a violent man ! That
guy has no respect for anyone.

I remember that one show where a Cadillac Escalade wiring harness went
missing. He made everyone in the shop pitch in like $50 bucks to pay for
the replacement. Several times the camera's showed that HE was the one that
threw it in the trash, and at one point you could tell on his face that he
realized he was the one that did it. And he STILL didn't let the others off
the hook. What a bastaad.

Re: How do I get Speed Channel?

you dont think that stupid ass show aint scripted? shit. what I find so
atractive about the shows you list, is it just seems to so blatently show
how fecking dumb some people are... "Im here to show you how much goddam
money you can waste on a car, 1st lets install 14 plasma tv's in this some
beech, then some 33 inch wheels, that make the car look like it was designed
with wheels from a 1870's 2 horse coffin hauler. paint everything red or
neon..." and then wonder why some dick skinner stole this some bitch while
parked out side the quicksack...

Forgot about the F1 coverage. I'm mainly peeved that my cable company
doesn't carry Speed. I do miss the WRC coverage, d/l divx files via file
sharing just isn't the same.

There's a cable company that doesn't carry Speed ? Now that's really odd!

Lots more than one. Lots of small ma & pa companies in rural areas don't. I
don't even have the choice of cable where I live, although I am less than
.5mi from folks that do. I have a .75mi private road and no cable company is
going to run the cable for 3-4 users. Everyone here has Direct or Dish
anyway. The prices on Direct TV are a good bit less, with a much better
choice of packages than any of the cable outfits around here. The local
cable co. here does not offer any Fox Sports Networks, and thus no Speed.

Re: How do I get Speed Channel?

Agree! It used to be great - even fighter aircraft and racing boats were
more interesting than "show business racing" and talking about show-business
racing. Yawn.

Hardly ever watch it anymore.
