rFactor takes a while to load

Anyone else having a problem with this? It seems like the more mods I
install the longer it takes to load. Whats the fix?

yep, thats about right. the game is reading the rfm files and all the paths
directed in the rfm files. so the more mods, the longer it takes to load.
I've got to the stage I only have a couple of mods installed at once.

cheers

The only fix is to remove mods you're not using.

Cheers,
Rod.

Agreed. My method is to have dual installs. Identical setups and use
one as a "test lab" and the other as the final stop of rF goodness. I
can check out the new stuff and decide what it is worthwhile (for me)
and what to discard. If the test bed gets hosed from the
install/uninstall/reinstall routine, I lose nothing. Take up some space
on the HD, but it's cheap enough nowadays.

I found that in my case, the long loading times were caused by my virus
checking software. Try making rfactor.exe an exception (or whatever your
software calls it.) It works for me.
