Sebastien Bourdais hoped to prove he was good enough for Formula 1
during his three-day test with Scuderia Toro Rosso last week, and the
triple Champ Car titlist has apparently achieved his goal, as STR
co-owner Gerhard Berger admitted to be considering the Frenchman for an
'08 seat - Bourdais' current deal with Newman/Haas expires by the
end of '07.

"He is definitely in the frame for 2008," Berger told autosport,com .
"But not for 2007, as he has a contract. I would like him to honor
that, absolutely.

"I think he did a bloody good job," Berger added. "He delivered what I
had expected of him and he is a good, talented driver. I have followed
his recent performances and have seen for a while that he was doing a
good job in the States."

The Austrian also confirmed that Scott Speed and Vitantonio Liuzzi's
future remain open, as Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz has
reportedly asked Berger to consider drivers who could bring additional
funding, such as Robert Doornbos and Narain Karthikeyan.

"I would say our two guys, Tonio and Scott, are on pole position, but
there are still a few things we have to sort out," he concluded.
