He handled commentary duties for the inaugural Edmonton Champcar race on host
broadcaster Canada's Global TV in 2005 and was surprisingly subdued compared to
his usual ways. It was almost a pleasant experience. I wonder if they asked
him to lighten up a bit?

He was in Canada and figured it was aboot time that he should be bit more
courteous, eh,...

I wonder who the broadcast team is going to be for CC once it comes to ABC?,
probably go with the same team, but wouldn't it be bizarre if we heard PP
behind the mic again for CC?.

My personal opinion is that he hit his peak doing comentary on food
eating contests. And yes, he has done that more than once since summer.

I have tapes of the old pre-1996 CART races from ESPN Classic Canada and he does
it, he's far less annoying than he became when he was doing the IRL races.

I think that Paul Page "lost it" when he went IRL. He became really annoying
then.

My personal pet peeve with Paul Page (whew, that's a lotta p's) is how he
always refers to the race as a "fight". Ugh.

And his voice is crappy and annoying as well.

I like Paul and he brings a vitality to the broadcasts. I understand
how he can annoy people and a voice is a voice and really can't be
changed. I also understand the annoynace with the word fight (my
corrolary is when Brent Musburger always referred to football games as
'wars'. Sigh)

You may have to cut Paul some slack on that one though. The word
'fight' is commonly used within F1 and their drivers to describe on
course action.
