Marco Andretti - "Quite Impressive, No Mistakes" - Honda

Marco Andretti - "Quite Impressive, No Mistakes" - Honda

"It has been a pleasure to have Marco Andretti with
us this week and to give him a further opportunity in
the 2006 car," said Honda F1's engineering director
Jacky Eeckelaert.

"Once again Marco has shown a high level of ability,
given his relative inexperience, and his long run pace
in particular was quite impressive ... and adapted
very well to the difficult track conditions without
making any mistakes," he continued.

From the "FastMachines" website: Marco Moves In
Fast Circles on Second Test Day. A Honda F1 Ride
Looms for 2009, Maybe Sooner After Jerez Success

"This week's more ambitious test appears a serious effort
to develop the driver, who turns twenty next month, and
ready him for an eventual move to F1. The fact he's in
the same car at the same circuit, simulating race starts
and driving at his best pace in wet and windy conditions,
lends even more credence to the proposition ... it is
becoming apparent that the nineteen year-old and his
doting parental and grand-parental advisor will have
to make a decision in the not too distant future about
Marco's eventual career plans."

"Quite conceivably there is a regular F1 driver's seat
for him coming in 2009 following a year of testing and
development in 2008, although that schedule could, and
would, be accelerated if significant driver improvement
in the American series or opportunity presented itself."

Marco Andretti - the IRL's youngest and least
experienced driver is undeniably destined for F1.

Marco might be headed for F1. But only of TG takes over and splits F1
for its ruination the same way he did U.S. open wheel.

Take it with a pinch of salt. Eeckelaert is hardly going to say "Marco's a
cunt" now is he?

Whereas in Chumpcar, an award is actually presented for, and
to, the biggest fuckup resulting in the most humiliating crash.
http :// motorsport,com /news/article.asp?ID=243009&FS=CHAMPCAR

It just doesn't get any more absurd or hilarious than that.

Legge only got the award (which, as you know, was caused by a rear wing
failure, not her fault) because SPEED had enough class to not give the award
to Paul Dana or Special Ed.

"Dumbest race car drivers".

I've yet to witness and could hardly imagine more deserving
"award" recipients than Alex Zanardi, Gonzalo Rodriguez,
Greg Moore ... or, of course, the self-flagellating, corrupt,
mismanaged, crash and burn CART/Chumpcar series itself.

So you must not be an IRL fan, either. Help me remember how many
drivers died in IRL-related racing accidents in 2006? How many in Champ
Car in 2006? How many Indy 500 drivers were arrested for DUI? How many
2006 Indy 500 drivers beat their wives?

Remind us who it was that forced a split of open wheel racing by
creating the IRL and forcibly excluding Champ Car from the Indy 500?

The only self-flagellation seems to be coming from you. But what you
choose to do in the privacy of your own bathroom is your business.
Please don't share it with us.

Non sequitur (absurdism), comment which is humorously absurd or has no
relation to the comment it follows; a statement so foolish, or
illogical that can not be responded to (e.g. "Hot enough for you?")

Well I should just ignore this, but again an IRL fan has the facts
wrong. The award was for the hardest hit. A wing failure caused that
accident. Any driver from either series that has a rear wing break
off would have been in the exact same situation. Whether she has
talent or not is not the question in this accident. It was most
certainly a mechanical failure. What it does say a lot about is the
safety of those old Lolas to be able to take a big hit and still keep
the driver safe. When I saw that crash I held my breath. I think we
all did, or at least I hope we did. When the TV got a shot of the
open door to the medical facility and there is was standing there with
a smile on her face, that was the BEST news of the season right there.

Ron White was right. There are some things you just can't fix.

Truly, only chumps could believe or would attempt to
convince others, that a wing's departure from a car,
resulting in an enormous, life threatening crash, wasn't,
by any stretch of the imagination, to be, in any manner
whatsoever, confused with a "fuckup". Not to mention
an earlier pretentious grammaticaster's post (replete
with the embarrassment the phony deserves from
terminating his sentence in a preposition), spewing
in excess of thirty words, painfully failed attempt at
establishing a case that a statement (that has already
received at least five responses) could "not be
responded to"

These persistently insipid replies to my original post
would continue to remain amusing, were they not so
tragically inept.

Two people on the bow/stern of a capsizing ship, laughing "ha ha,

FYI, troll, absurd is someone who would drop to the depths of
taking a news article about a media poll award and purporting
it to be an offical, CART(or whatever they are this month) sanctioned
award:

(from SPEEDTV,com ):

With more than 56,000 fan votes cast on SPEEDtv,com for the SPEED
Performance Awards, other winners of the night included:

Best Rivalry Formula 1 titans Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher

Biggest Hit Champ Car rookie Katherine Legge, who walked away from a
massive crash at Road America after losing her rear wing.

Biggest Upset David Gilliland for his David vs. Goliath win in the
NASCAR Busch Series race at Kentucky in an unsponsored, underfunded
entry.

Oops Award NASCAR driver Brian Vickers for taking out teammate Jimmie
Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Talladega en route to his first NASCAR
Nextel Cup Series win.

Tell It Like It Is Carl Edwards for his emotional, on-camera
assessment of fellow NASCAR driver Tony Stewart after an on-track
incident at Pocono, calling Stewart special.

Temper, Temper ARCA driver Michael Simko for his flying sidekick
through the front windshield of fellow competitor Don St. Denis at

Best Finish Sam Hornish Jr. passing rookie Marco Andretti on the last
