That seems to be their modus operandi.

Interesting. So all that stuff about American drivers, short track
guys, ovals, level playing field, etc, etc etc....was basically one
big cocksuck now, innit?

Well, reaching out for that vision plunged American open wheel racing
into pitiful obscurity. Early-90's CART had been bigger than NASCAR (at
the time), so I guess it makes sense to try to go with what worked and
move away from the failed vision.

Of course it makes sense...CART early/mid 90's was growing...NASCAR
probably would've taken over anyway, but OWR could have gone along for
the ride. Well attended races, solid TV package, sponsors, drivers
with personality, etc...

All of this nonsense (the split) has been unwarranted and unnecessary.
Ten years later, we've gone 30 years backwards.

Pardon my fronch, but the saying "It only takes one asshole to fuck it
up for everyone else" rings true here.

Hold on there. The TG vision worked completely. TG's vision for
controlling open wheel racing and excluding those that didn't pay homage
to him has worked. He successfully prevented competing racing bodies
from running at Indy with a chance to win.

Unfortunately, there isn't enough open wheel racing left for hiim to
gloat over.

He strangled the goose that laid the golden egg....

The IRL is running on a street course. Two of the top ten drivers from
the U.S. One of them may actually have short track experience.

There was another principle that needs to be covered: Preserving the
traditions of the Indy 500. The "Month of May" is now a couple of days;
bump day isn't; 33 is just a number, the race winner is declared
regardless of where he may have finished.
