I'm out of Central NY Region and I worked with a bunch of folks from
MoHud and New England. I'm not sure how Central Florida does their comm
during their events since we had IMSA and SCCA Pro folks in the tower
all weekend.

Are you going to be at the 6 hours at the Glen this year? I'm with St
Louis Region but I'll be there with F2000 pro.

I will not work at the Glen again until their management changes their
anti-SCCA policies. I worked the 6 Hour and IRL race last year and vowed
that it would be my last race weekend at the Glen as long as they have
their inane restrictions that prohibit proper SCCA F&C.

Are you going to be racing in the F2000 race? If so, be advised that if
you spin off or otherwise stop, or if your car catches fire, you'll have
to wait until a fire truck gets there to help you out since F&C marshals
are prohibited from responding to car incidents.

I won't be in a car, but I'll be there working (not F&C). I
understand the problems at the Glen in regards to SCCA and that's why
I never work club races up there. However, I will be there that
weekend since I'm with a group that I've committed with.

As I said when I was there last year...NASCAR has sucked the soul out
of the Glen. And I truly believe the tracks policies with F&C workers
is going to bite it sometime in the future because they won't let
someone who CAN get to an incident go to the incident.

But I'm still going to be there.

WOW!! GREAT!!! Its about time a course put you idiots in your place.
After years of working Fire/Rescue at several courses, as a VOLUNTEER fire
fighter, I gave it up, as many of us real fire fighters have, because I just
got sick and tired of having to fight my way through herds of jackanapes
like you, to get to an incident and do my job. What on earth makes you
think that because you wear a funny white outfit you are better qualified to
deal with fire, extrication or any other rescue operation? Unless, of
course, you happen to be a certified EMT, Paramedic or Fire Fighter?? What
you and your untrained, unqualified, holier than thou band of wannabees need
to do, is stay in your little rat holes and wave those ridiculous funny
colored rags that no one including your drivers pay attention to and leave
the real work to professionals who know what they're doing.

Fool, huh? Please tell us how many fire fighters have been killed at a
course?? None that I know of. How many wannabee corner workers have been
killed doing stupid things. Gee, let's talk about Nelson Ledges, 2 years
ago. One corner worker cut in half by car because he was WAY OUT of his
assigned station, DOING SOMETHING STUPID!!!!! Gee, let's talk about the
worker killed in the Krasnof incident...idiot has head stuck through fence,
looking the wrong way...hmmmm decapitated. Now who is the fool?

Kestrel

your sig says it all. "let go of reason" ???? Yep, that makes sense.

Indeed, your specious reasonings bear tremendous testimony to the truth
of that statement.

Just as I expected, you are in over your head.

You somewhat remind me of a certain character we call "Douchebag Dan
Martelle." He's the incompetent fireman who is largely responsible for
WGI's failure to comply with national and international motorsport
safety standards. I've heard him spew forth nonsense quite similar to
the tripe you posted regarding marshals vs. 'trained firemen.'

I had an interesting chat with Pat, the Chief Steward for SCCA World
Challenge. They are not happy with the unsafe environment at The Glen.
There has been talk about them insisting on WGI bringing in a small army
of SCCA marshals for their weekend at the Glen to ensure the safety of
their drivers. They're not sure if they'll be able to get WGI to bend or
not - much of that depends on if they can get to talk to Steve Ely
without Douchebag Dan around to mess things up. As it is, the pathetic
safety protocols at the Glen aren't up to the standards laid out in the
SCCA Pro Rulebook (or the GCR, for that matter). IMSA won't even
consider racing at the Glen due to the pitiful sub-standard safety there.

But that's the way the firemen at the Glen want it. Thank goodness they
are soooooooooooo on top of things...
