Max, China, Hilary, a chance to express our very different prejudices

Some of us oppose Max because he was a stuck-up barrister.
Some of us oppose China holding the olympic games because we oppose
all olympic games.
Some of us oppose Hilary Clinton because she attends religious prayer
meetings with republicans.

So when nationwide surveys ask questions like "Should Max resign?",
the resultant stats reveal nothing about the nature of the opposition
to, or support of, Moseley's position in the FIA.

I propose Hilary Clinton as candidate for the FIA presidency,
however.
Explain, giving three reasons (10 marks).

Oh, I was thinking that Bush might be looking for something to do next year.
Failing that, Chuck Norris.

Well, for one, I think she could jump right into the job without too
much trouble from not being familiar with the sport. Similar
circumstances with the State of New York didn't seem to hurt her much
when she took that job...

Darnn, I forgot that SHE is a lawyer too! I dare not type that famous
Shakespeare line about lawyers here, as the Eye in the Sky might be
watching.
BTW, on the dumb-politician front: Canadian PM Jean Chretien was
doing a down-to-earth man-of-the-people press conference about a new
piece of legislation, and when a reporter asked him a detailed
question, Chretien quipped "Well, you know, a'hm not a lawyer, but
---"
and the reporter came back with "But Mr Chretien, you ARE a
lawyer." Zap.

And some of us because of all his bonehead ideas *before* this cropped
up (oops, I *really* didn't mean to say that that way<g>).

And Some oppose it because they're using it for propganda at the

And some don't give a damn because we're not CNN junkies living in the
US.

No, but it shows how bad a media image he has, which is crutial.

Rejected. Absolutely no merit in the idea. The job *isn't* a elected
post in the US. Far from it.

Who actually watched CNN for news? I find the best sources of US news are
either on Comedy Central or HBO.

Media image? I'd say image in general. And who is responsible for that? The
man who did it or the those who reported it?

Never really "got" Colbert myself - just nasty in my books and
right-wingers aren't really considered seriously here, but Stewart is a
breath of truth in a sea of spin. Myself, I just stick to the BBC and
CBC for the "facts".

No idea, but I figure it's something that was inevitable. People like
Max ( or Jerry Falwell, Spitzer et. al) eventually f*ck up to the extent
that their point is invalidated by their own behavior. It's just one of
the very few signs that there *might* be a god after all.

Given the context of the rest of the message yes, because of the absence
of any appreciable humor.

Ah, interesting point. People in this position do seem to take more and more
risk untill they get caught out. And they know the consequences, ragardless
of fairness.

I would have thought that HC being FIA president can only be amusing.

Well seeing as she's the only person *ever* near the top to propose
socialized medicine for the US (while Bill was in power)- the only
"civilized" country that *doesn't* have it and certainly *desparately*
needs it BTW - cripes the Gov't there *subsidizes* doctors' malpractice
insurance. I think it's debatable whether or not she's a good
administrator. I haven't heard any horror stories from New York State
(which actually is *real* close to there - we get some of their
broadcast stations) recently. But seriously, isn't it just another
management job where you have to ask the right questions, decide who's
bullshitting you and who knows what they're talking about (and telling
you that) when you make decisions?
