very interesting comparison of lap times in Malaysia.
What do you think about it ? In my opinion it is good prediction for
Kubica for this season :) but more interesting will be comparison
between Kubica and Alonso (2007) and Schumacher (2004).

Nice find - this is the sort of stuff we should talk about more. I wonder
how rare this is, or is it more typical with the top level drivers when you
have clear air?

Pitwall is an online F1 manager game where you receive a team and need
to develop the team to get on the top podium position! Pitwall is
entirely free! No sh*t!

I agree, that's an almost robotic consistency.
Very impressive indeed.

I don't get this at all. What are the lap time supposed to be showing?
They are not *very* consistent. In a kart, I could lap to within a
1/10th of a second, and I'm not a fantastic driver. Granted, an F1 car
is much more sophisticated, but these are supposed to be the best
drivers in the world, and they've been doing this for many, many years.

If the amazing thing is supposed to be that the lap times are
progressively coming down as the fuel is burnt off, I still don't get
it. The lower weight means that the car accelerates faster, so even if
you drive exactly the same lap after lap, the lap times will still come
down.

Is there any evidence that Kubica is actually more consistent than other
drivers??

Schmacher supposedly was more robotic and could put down lap after lap
at the same time and turn it up when he needed. As a person, he may
have been lacking and also at times as a driver, but he could drive
fast.

Kubica reminds me of say Niki Lauda. Niki is a motor mouth today but
in his F1 days he was fairly quiet, very smart, focused, brave,
determined and I think was very smooth and easy on the tires. I think
Kubica is another Lauda type. He lost at least 15 pounds in the off
season to get to starvation level to reduce weight and improve speed.
