The gloom-'n-doom thread made me dig up a wonderful excerpt from an
interview with writer PG Wodehouse, from the 1960's. The Jeeves
creator was always a jolly and unflappable character himself, and the
young keen interviewer tried to nail him about the nuclear threat and
the arms race etc.

Interviewer: You treat everything lightly, but do you realize that
there is now a nuclear device that could wipe out the entire world in
one go?

Wodehouse: Really? I can't wait.

For the uniniated, PBS in the US is now carrying the Fry (Black Adder -
the 1st World War part) and Laurie (House/Black Adder) version thereof
on Wednesday nights. Highly recommended.

--- and let me be the first uptight pedant to crack on about
"uniniated" ---- there, if I hit 'send' real quick I will be first. I
mean "really" quick. No, "really quickly", it's an adverb innit.

Max likes being "iniated" am I right gov?
