Indeed :-( Who *can't* remember what they were doing that day? I didn't even
watch the GP - I was living in Greece at the time and it wasn't shown live.
I heard the news on BBC world service at 8:45pm when we'd been out on the
beer all day..

I was at my Nan's house for Sunday lunch. Was sitting the the arm chair
watching the race with my dinner on my lap, while every one else was in the
dining room. I was completely stunned. I was, and still am pretty shocked at
how much I was acrually affected by it. Not like me at all.

Horrible weekend.

And you know what I remember most? That look between Senna and Prost after
Roland's accident.

At the time Berger was quoted as saying, roughly, "It's like the sun
has gone in."

RIP.

Grandprix.com has an article and it does mention the increased safety
standards in F1 in last 14 years thanks to MM, irrespective of his
recent adventures.

As much as I hate to hijack this thread, although, I think you did that
first, and two wrongs might just make a right.......

As I understand it, the sensible measures introduced by K-Max were ones that
had been argued for for years before. I think K-Max's input was the
chicanes. Although. many argue that they were introduced to slow the cars
down so the cameras could get a better view of the ads on the cars, and the
safety aspect was a happy coincidence.

The deaths were something Max couldn't argue against, or were an excuse for
other measures.

Can't put my finger on it, but this remindes me of something else.
