Not Making Sense (SA)

I'm beating a dead horse here, things aren't lining up.

"Honda has continued to support the team as much as possible but Aguri
Suzuki, Team Principal has come to Honda and expressed his decision to
withdraw from Formula One as he is not capable of establishing a foundation
for independent operation of the team.

The Super Aguri F1 Team's withdrawal is indeed very disappointing for us but
we understand that it was inevitable unless the team could find a way to
stand alone by itself in the future. "

-------

Okay, that doesn't line up with what Weigl, Aguri and the press
(f1racing.net) were saying:

According to the Formula 1 team the offer will secure the team's future in
Formula 1. "We are happy that we have been able to resurrect talks between
the Super Aguri team and Franz Weigl at such short notice and to have the
opportunity of presenting the WEIGL Group to the Honda Board once again,"
said team boss Aguri Suzuki. "Such a partnership as the one proposed by
WEIGL Group will allow us to race for the foreseeable future and I am
hopeful that all parties will find the Group's offer a realistic package."

Franz-Josef Weigl, CEO, WEIGL Group AG, commented in the Super Aguri press
release on the possible deal: "WEIGL Group has decided to speak out openly
at this decisive time for SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM. We would like to express
sincere support for the team's participation in the Formula One World
Championship and the Group's, together with its sponsors and Partners,
earnest intention to provide ongoing investment to secure the team's
future."

----

The Weigl Group has sales in excess of $200m annually and its owner has
openly said he also has other financial backers for the Super Aguri team
investment. Sources close to the talks have told GPUpdate.net that one of
the main sticking points the Honda board is likely to have over the rescue
plan is that Weigl needs to repay the team's debt to Honda over a three-year
period, and not in one immediate installment as the fallen-through proposal
from Magma intended.

====

I get the sense that Honda is being disingenuous.
