What if Massa wins the WDC in 2008?.

Hilarious. It would be definitive proof that Hamilton and Raikkonen
are simply mediocre drivers that got lucky with the cars they get to
drive. I see Massa as the perfect Champion for Alonso's transitional
year in F1. Now people are having nightmares after reading this post
because they never considered this possibility.

I don't think Massa would see it that way.

And if Kimi wins Massa is there for mediocre?
If LH wins, Kimi and Massa are both mediocre?

DOn't be silly. He is already mounting a challenge to over take Webber
on the drivers table. Once he is past Webber, nobody will be able to
catch him. So you know, just be on your toes, once he gets those
emails ripping, there will be no stopping him.

Nah, It would just prove beyond reasonable doubt that Max was simply
supporting and aiding his fave Nazi team.

He's only hoping we forgot who used to be team principle before stepping
down and letting the poison dwarf Todt take his place!

(Not forgetting it's still being set up for Fred to go to the Nazi team in
2009)

Because such a possibility has little credibility in reality

You are wrong. I think Massa will be the driver that progresses the
most from here till the end of the season. Plus Alonso will be
deciding who wins the WDC this year and here's why.

Renault is already fighting for 6th place and can be considered the
4th best team on the grid when 3 races ago the team could only finish
no higher than 10th place and could not even manage to qualify any car
for Q3. At this rate of improvement by the end of the season Alonso
will be able to compete for 3th and 4th place and that's when the WDC
gets interesting. Alonso will be able to act as a moving bumper with a
slower car in the top positions of the grid and basically decide who
he wants to leave behind him for the entire race or who he wants to
let loose. It will be up to Alonso to spoil the party of Raikkonen or
Massa depending on his taste. Massa and Alonso are not friends but it
would be in Alonso's interest to favor Massa over Raikkonen for the
title. I'm beggining to think that this could really be Massa's year.

Interesting ideas.

Why do you say that?
Is it that you think he would prefer to be the only 2 time

Could be. Again, if he does it 'well', I'll be
happy for him.

Why do you think that. He has been doing quite well
and seems to be adding maturity, to go with his speed.

Well, true, Hamilton did 'get lucky' with having a long term
relationship with McLaren, and 'got lucky' in starting
F1 on a year they were good, and he 'got lucky' with
some breaks last year, but he seems a pretty
exceptional driver IMHO.

Always darn close to the same car they give Massa.
Well, Raikkonen did 'get lucky' in some breaks last
year, but he is a very good driver, and made some of his
own breaks (or did not make himself too much "bad luck"!).
Also, 'got lucky' in having a good team-mate that did
everything possible to help him win the WDC.
Be just fine with me if Kimmi gets to return the favor.

Huh?

No, no nightmare. Actually I'd kinda figured in 2007
he'd make one less mistake than Raikkonen and would
have had a decent chance then for WDC.
Sometime it's luck, sometimes it's earned.

So we both agree: Massa WDC in 2008. Forza Massa.

Dont forget that Kimi was incredibly lucky that Mclaren were in a form of
civil war. He would never have won if Alonso hadn't been so obsessed with
Lewis. Alonso should have won, easily.

Then Im pretty sure that analysis would show that both Alonso's WDC were
down to luck and others failures.

Often, thats how F1 works.

Alonso would have won the WDC by September if McLaren wouldn't have
prioritize a dumbass with no experience over a 2xWDC because of his
passport. Hamilton's performances in China and Brazil were tremendous
vindication for Alonso's claims all season long. This is a huge
mistake that will cost McLaren dearly for the next few years. Alonso
would have won many WDC's for McLaren and now he'll be the main reason
why McLaren won't win anything in the next decade. In any serious
organization Ron Dennis would have been obliterated from the company
for his huge mistakes.
