Kubica looks like a standup comedian, not a Formula One driver.

In the film "Grand Prix" the only one who "looked like a Formula One
driver" was Yves Montand.

Graham Hill looked like an army colonel from the 19th century.

I didn't believe it was Graham Hill, didn't look anything like him ;-)

Wasn't Jochen Rindt in there and Ken Tyrell too?

Only Phil Hill and Graham were officially cast as characters but most
of the F1 drivers of the time appeared in the GPDA meeting scene
(including Rindt).

Oh, I don't know. The way he leered at what's-her-name seemed to me to
be a pretty convincing imitation of an F1 driver.

Francoise Hardy would have made a good F1 driver.

The worst driver (of the actors) of the bunch.

I'd say he would need at least three victories and extreme reliability to
get near the title.

So far it's hard to say if they can get that first victory already this
year, and he's already used one of the couple retirements he could afford.
Australia is a shame though, he could easily be like four point away from
Kimi at this point.

You forgot the multiple choices to that question:

a) BMW is a relatively new team with little rabid following to wind up
the rabid fans on the opposing side.
b) Kubica's Dad is virtually invisible.
c) Nobody cares about Poles and Germans.
d) Kubica does it all nice and quietly, with no fanfare.
e) He is boring.
f) Blue and white. Can an emblem have a lamer colour scheme ?
g) He isn't dating Kylie or Danny.
h) He never played second fiddle to Schumi.
i) He is knocking, but not yet considered to be a real threat to
Kimi,Massa, Lewis or Fernando.
j) If i can't pronounce it properly, i'm not saying it.
k) He is no Finn.
l) He is not good looking.
m) all of the above

HTH. :)
