It's odd isn't it?

He's not much less likely than Heikki, Lewis or Nick.
The BMW has looked on par with the McLaren for the last 3 races.

But then Heikki and Nick don't get much attention either, do they?

(Based on running at least two laps longer than Lewis in Spain, Heikki
outqualifed him too - again.)

Isn't it odd that you *always* manage to turn a thread around to get
in a dig at Lewis, despite there being no mention of him until now.
That sort of obsession is bad for your soul y'know?

Well you should come at it from the other direction: The point is that
there are 3 relatively overlooked drivers! Oh - and I was praising Heikki,
not quite the same thing as insulting Lewis, is it?

But back to your soapbox:
Though shalt not indicate in any way that Lewis != God.

Who said insult. I said dig.

Can I have a turn :)

Actually I think it was only at least one lap longer.. I was originally
sure that it had happened a little longer after Kubica and Lewis made the
first of their synchronised pitstops.

So then they should have called them in together, just to satisfy you
that Lewis may just outqualified Heikki ? ;-p

There are three _relatively*_ overlooked drivers, I'd agree.

That Hamilton hasn't been nearly as impressive* so far this season is
also true IMO.

But Hamilton has completed all races so far (even if his Bahrain
performance was dreadful) unlike two of the other three.

And Hamilton has a win (which everyone seems to see as a million times
more important than a second let alone a third or fourth) this season
unlike all of the other three.

And Hamilton _was_ in close contention for WDC last year (along with
Alonso and Raikkonen) unlike the other three (even Heidfeld was more
than 40 points off Alonso), and it's performance over a complete season
that determines WDC not selective races early on in the season.
Raikkonen obviously (and rightly) gets huge attention (despite not being
overly media-friendly) as does Alonso (despite having relatively low
points count).

* These things being relative.

Should Alonso be ignored as his current form is unimpressive? Okay,
he's a double world champion, but it doesn't look like this year will
make it treble. Hamilton is still #2 in the drivers rankings for the
current season.

So, is this unfair? Depends on your point of view, I guess.

Mark

I think it's there's two more overlooked *cars*. The drivers are all
pretty equal - with the possible exception of the STR team and Force India
drivers. Remeber they're all pretty well the best that came out of GP2
or North America in the case of Sea Bass, And he hasn't had a chance
to prove himself in a capable car yet. The real question is what's going
to happen with Williams, Toyota and Honda. Those are the teams that could
go either way (up or down). Last year was the year BMW moved up. They
just have the money (read sponsorship) and the car to do it with as a
result of that and the last years development. They did it at Honda's expense
I think accounting would show.
