I've been a fan of HK since he spanked Schumacher at the Race of
Champions at Bercy...But, there does seem to be a lack of consistency
with HK, he seems to have great qualifying speed but he can't reproduce
it lap after lap in the way Hamilton can (who was Senna-esque at Turkey
lap after lap at full bananas).
He could win the DWC in this years Ferrari, I'm just not sure he could
win it in a McLaren.

Thankfully they showed us LOTS of overtaking (More than any other race from
Heikki alone!)

True...but HK did appear to make a meal out of getting past Sutil with a
~2 sec a lap car advantage whereas LH got past Massa with a ~0 .4 sec a
lap car advantage.

While not disagreeing I think ~1.5s and ~1.0s would be fairer.

Whats weird is that the Ferrari is reputed to 2-3 tenths a lap faster
while LH only has ~ 0.6 secs a lap lighter fuel load so why is Massa
dropping back so quickly?
In any case I never expected LH to get past Massa so easily, he looked
like he got mugged.

I would have understood it better if he knew Lewis was on a 3 stopper
before the maneuver but it appears not. In fact it appears than
Felipe/Ferrari got rather flustered for a short while.

Then max's mate phoned the circuit who promptly got onto the radio to ask
Lewis "Do you want to have to appear in court for another FIAerrari win
Lewis, You've forgotton, The RED team must win!"

Lewis replied "No, Just proving I'm a LOT faster than those red KKK cars"

How do you make decisions in life, when you have no clearly defined
object of hatred?

"what's more" or "once more"

Well McLaren, or Whitmarsh at least, thinks he had what it takes to
have won in Turkey.

I have to say though that I thought he contributed to his problem at
the start. Kimi was really a long way up beside him when he cut for the
apex. He could/should have given Kimi room and tried to claim it in
turn 2.

Monaco is yet another test and if he can match Hamilton there I'll be
very impressed.

I was very impressed with him right up until the start lights went out. From
then on, I was disappointed. In the same way I'm often disappointed with
Kimi (WDC). But then, he was apparently heavy. So, there are reasons other
then the drivers mentality at work.

Which can mean 1 of 2 things: either he isn't quite as good as some think,
or like Kimi he only gets 'excited' if he can see a win or at least
second. At the moment, I'm hoping its the latter.

Of course, we can't really judge him just yet. But his is fast and a very
nice guy, and that'll do me for now. More to the point, its exactly what
Mclaren and Lewis need right now.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. If he can just spend this year pushing
Lewis and getting his feet under the table, he should be a serious threat
for next year, assuming he doesn't mount a challenge this year.

I reckon the future is very bright for Heikki. And for us fans too, as it
happens. Two fast drivers in Mclaren and Ferrari with a chance to race, BMW
with two fast drivers are banging on the door like bailiffs, and Alonso in a
shitty Renault.......(sorry, had to, bad me, must get over it)

That is all very well, but I am starting to feel that like DC and Mark
Webber, we are seeing someone where the story is always that he *could
have* delivered *but for* whatever it is this week. The prizes go to
those who actually do deliver. I hope I will be proved wrong, because
the more drivers we have genuinely challenging for championships, the
happier I will be.
