Request for testing data

I was looking at Alonso's 1:19.503 in the R28 without traction control
and wonder how it compares to last years testing times at Jerez in the
Renault R28?

Thanks in anticipation,
build

Alonso was driving the R27, the R28 isn't ready yet.

There were two better times at Jerez last year:

1'19.183 Kovalainen 19 Jan
1'19.466 " 13 Dec (2006 - in R26)

Fisi's best was a 19.685 on Dec 07 (R26)

Thanks Brian,
I believe those times were without traction control, is that
correct???
I was interested in times (at Jerez) with traction control in the old
car (R27).
cheers,

OK, I'll try again.

Last year, by which I mean post-2006 season (Dec 2006-March 2007), Renault
tested at Jerez on:

Dec 06 Kovalainen (20.784), Fisichella (21.183) R26
Dec 07 Fisichella (19.685), Kovalianen (20.204) R26
Dec 08 Kovalainen (20.372), Fisichella (20.390) R26

Dec 13 Kovalainen (19.466), Fisichella (20.108) R26
Dec 14 Kovalainen (19.810), Fisichella (20.068) R26
Dec 15 Kovalainen (19.573), Fisichella (19.801) R26

All of those were with the 2006 car with TC.

In January the new (2007) car (R27) was introduced:

Jan 16 Fisichella (20.698) R27
Jan 17 Fisichella (20.201), Kovalainen (20.635) R27
Jan 18 Fisichella (19.754), Kovalainen (21.026) R27
Jan 19 Kovalainen (19.183), Fisichella (20.478) R27

Feb 06 Piquet (21.261), Zonta (21.393) R27
Feb 07 Piquet (20.070), Zonta (20.767) R27
Feb 08 Piquet & Zonta (no times) R27

All times were presumably set with TC.

During the 2007 season there were tests at Jerez on:

Jul 24 Piquet (22.537) R27
Jul 25 Kovalainen (20.881) R27
Jul 26 Kovalainen (20.828) R27

Sep 18 Piquet (22.009) R27
Sep 19 Piquet (21.101) R27
Sep 20 Piquet (20.655) R27

Again all were set with the 2007 (R27) car and I'd assume with
TC enabled.

'This year' - since the 2007 season ended, Renault have been to
Jerez:

Dec 04 Piquet (20.366) R27
Dec 05 Piquet (19.982) R27
Dec 06 Piquet (19.834) R27

Using the 2007 car but with the 2008 standard ECU (MES) - no TC. Bridgestone
provided three sets of slick tyres per car for these tests, Piquet's times
on Dec 05 & 06 were almost certainly set on slicks.

Jan 14 Piquet (21.595) R27
Jan 15 Alonso (19.503) R27
Jan 16 Alonso (20.363) R27

Again with the 2007 (R27) and no TC.

The 2008 car (R28) isn't ready yet and won't be on track until next week
at Valencia (possibly).

You can read the team's press releases for each day on the Motorsport
website, starting from this page:

Thanks Brian,
That confirms my thoughts.
