Notes: Lewis Hamilton had an 'off' with about 10m of the session remaining. His
McLaren was damaged when he hit the barriers in turn 7. Felipe Massa put in a
qualifying lap near the end of the session to better team-mate Räikkönen's
time by almost a full second. Fernando Alonso languished down in 19th for most
of the session before improving with his last effort - he then collided with
former Renault team-mate, Giancarlo Fisichella, both cars spinning and
continuing - Fisi's fault.

Notes: The Q1 session was red-flagged with just over four minutes remaining
after Takuma Sato spun his Super Aguri. Felipe Massa appeared to set his
fastest lap through the area of waved yellow flags after Sato went off, but
the stewards decided that no penalty was required. The first pole position
for Robert Kubica and BMW Sauber.
