Well, not for me to disturb your memory ganglia but I just verified that
Jacque and I were there with Grand Prix Tours in 2000 and then with you
in 2001. I remember you talking about Jerry and how he was unable to be
there at the last moment when we originally connected about the tickets.
I'm sure it was 2001 because I remember John Cougar Mellencamp doing his
9/11 tribute on the big screen just opposite "J" and the discussion over
whether the race should go ahead at all. Those were nervous times.

Yeah, the situation is awfully dire, isn't it? Still and all, however,
you've got to get to Spa if you've never been. It is magnificent in all
respects. Jacque and I were there in '93 and walked the entire circuit
on Friday. As much as everyone loves Eau Rouge and as iconic as the La
Source hairpin is and all, Pouhon is the circuit's real scene-stealer,
an awesome natural amphitheatre. You will not believe how fast the cars
get through there until you've seen it live. And the food's incredible
(but I don't remember seeing any of Indy's trademark turkey legs ;->).

Nope, I took my Ph.D. in 1982 -- Gad, that makes me old! -- and had been
downsized by Bell Labs in 2000 so I was trying get a consulting practice
up and running at that point. Needless to say, 9/11 made that difficult
and it never really happened for me. I'm doing individual life coaching
these days and thoroughly enjoying it.

Cheers!

Boy, I'm embarrassed, but I had to put "closed" to this conversation.
My apologies, Dillon, since I didn't even remember which woman I'd been
with when we shared a race at Indy. It was indeed 2003 when Peg and I
were celebrating our honeymoon with you and your sister. Jacque and I
were indeed there in 2000 with Grand Prix Tours and then again in 2001
when she got tickets from a relative of a friend at work (which were in
"J" as I remembered), but Peggy and I were there in 2003 thanks to your
help. Your memory was a bunch more accurate than mine, and I apologize
for ever doubting you.

Cheers!
