Yawn...Iowa 2.

So I saw the start and then about 20 minutes of the race before my
friend asked if we could watch some paint dry instead...did I miss a
good race or was it paint drying? I have it recorded and will watch if
it is worth watching, but I do know who won.

And to make this an ABC sucks rant, ABC showed the result of the F1
race during the first 10 minutes of the Indycar broadcast even though
Fox hadn't shown the tape delayed broadcast.

Only interesting parts were:

1) As Jack "Mr. Overhype" Arute was going on about how Ed "My Step-Dad
Runs this League" Carpenter was "on the move", Ed plunks it into the wall...

2) Dan Weldon complaining about trouble with Danica...

3) Jack MO Arute giving Dixon a kiss in victory lane (granted, Scott
planted one on Jack's balding head after Jack's birthday wishes, but
Jack didn't need to return the favor...)

I think I watched the entire race in 30-minutes using my DVR's 30-second
skip button...

Glad I watched that first then (albeit, I didn't see the results in the
ABC broadcast, must have been during one of the skips...).

Hey, thanks...we watched the F1 race first and when we started to
watch the IRL race, there were complaints from my current girlfriend
about "going round and round" in circles. I really wanted to watch it
then, but now lack the motivation. I still haven't watched the end of
the NASCAR race, though.

Did you see Brianne Pedigo (sp?) talking to Scott's crew chief?
Bringing up who I assume is a sick or ill brother or something--the
guy acted like he's been shot--again--and wondered why Brianne brought
it up. She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her
eye.

Well of course, they need to up the competition.

I just do not know what it will take to get me to watch an oval race. Maybe
Paul Tracy driving for Roger or Chip. Maybe. And he has to slap Danica.

I finally watched my recording last night. It wasn't a bad race, but it
certainly wasn't great. Iowa is a bit of a bastard hybrid IMO. It is
technically a short track, but it 'behaves' more like a 1.5 mile banked
oval. At least Firestone brought some good tyres and made a show out of
it, as opposed to last year's parade.

Yea, I watched most of it last night. I applied FF until about 50 from
the end and it was pretty good...not great, but certainly better than
last year. The last laps when Marco was glued to the back of Hideki
was pretty exciting -- except for being like all of last year ;-)

So, is Hidekki as good as Miller has suggested on the Speed Report? He
was very impressive in this race and has been "on the move" lately.

Hideki looks like he's a fairly solid racer, although I can't say that
I've seen enough of his racecraft to make any strong assertions as to
just how good he is.

It must have been a lot better on TV than it was in person or I went for
beer at the wrong time and missed something!
