Mah internets were down over the weekend.

I was cheering for Tracy every lap of the race. I popped open a cold one
in his honor after the checker flew. Fantastic drive.

I've said many times before that he belongs in an Indy Car. He's
undoubtedly better than the bulk of the drivers with rides, and did well
to show it this past weekend.

Tracy did great. Its just a shame that the coverage I saw missed most if not
all of his passes.

IRL needs Paul, if only to stand up to Danica......... :)

ESPN's disappointing coverage missed many good passes. I remember just
getting a glimpse of a 4-way battle for a position in the background as
the camera focused on AJ Foyt IV since he was leading (running more or
less alone).

I also recall watching the running order scroll along the top, seeing
some good drivers moving up. Any shots of those passes? Nope.

Any shots of Danica running in the midfield accomplishing nothing? Plenty.

Although the overall broadcast was poor, I thought it was because they
would be focusing too much on Tracy. Not only didn't they show Paul
steadily carving his way through the field, but they showed too many
of those annoying "up close and personal moments" just when the action
was heating up and at times the camera was pointing nowhere.

...Another Holy CRap ESPN show.

Re: Holy CRap

Not sure who was producing/directing but there was way too much coverage of
the leader all on his own and not enough of the mid-pack scraps. Like ABC
has always been (and EPSN now), they have a script before the race starts
and they stick to it.

Unlike the Kroger 200 NASCAR race where Edwards was 3 laps down and they
were focusing in on him making his way back to the lead lap...he got back
on the lead lap and finished 11th.

Unfortunately, Marty Reid was calling the race...

You know it's bad when I'm watching NASCRAP

Re: Holy CRap

The commentary was just horrible. Scott Goodyear should never announce
another race, and I said the same about my old fav Bob Jenkins about 10
years ago.

Isn't he like 45 years old?

39 IIRC.However, he did used to race in CART/Champcar when it was full of
real drivers, so of course he's going to be better than all but the top few
in the IRL.

Indeed Tracy has let his emotions get the better of him in the past, but
when it was put up or shutup time this weekend, PT definitely put up. Pretty
damn good job all things considered.

I didn't watch until last night but I was rooting for him all the way. Good
on him for being patient, too.

Guess you missed the "Nice finish by Tracy" post.
