Pitiful nascar calls

During the nationwide race today Brad Coleman was taken out by bobbie
hamilton.
(possible payback). He went into the infield and barely touched some
tires. He tried and tried to get his car going again. The wet infield
prevented that.

Now nascar in their wisdom thought brad needed to go to the infield
care center.
Some 16 to 18 laps later he is allowed to return to the track.

This was such a ptiful call by nascar that I really can't believe that
it happened at all.

Nascar if you read these newsgroups, which I doubt, get a grip,
someone that just needs a tow out of the boonies does not need to go
to the infield care center.

You cost that kid a darn good finish. Wise up.

Not possible for NASCAR to wise up because those in charge are like
politicians no clue to begin with, so far out of touch.

Dead wrong both of you.

In an effort to be sure that drivers do not have concussions or broken
necks the rule is that if you are involved in a contact incident
whereby you have to get out of the car, then you have to go to the
infield care center.

This keeps drivers alive and healthier.

So what if in a few isolated incidents (like this one) the driver
looses position.

I fully agree with NASCAR that this rule should have no gray zone as
there is no way to determine the exact cutoff point of a light tap and
a hard hit. (hard tap vs light hit etc...)

Thank you NASCAR for helping to keep one of my favorite groups of
people alive and healthy.

You got that right. That's why competition is discouraged in many
youth sports these days. There can only be one winner, and the losers
all feel bad. It shouldn't be about winning and losing. It should be
all about driving and having a good time.

We sure wouldn't any common sense being applied. No sir.

Thank you panty-waists for feminizing the sport to the point that it
is unwatchable. You can get much more accomplished in a weekend when
it isn't spent watching what used to be a pretty damn entertaining
sport.

He didn't *have* to get out of the car, he was stuck in the mud and
Nascar *made* him get out of the car.

"I was getting in the ambulance and I looked back and I saw there were
still front tires on this thing. So I jumped back out, went around and
saw that all the tires were on it. I asked the guy in the car to see
if it'll crank and he fired it off. So I told him ,Get out of the car!
Get out of the car! And I jumped in and drove off". - Dale Sr after

<nods>
That's the incident that popped in my head too.
I was amazed that the car would even roll.

Yep, horrible call. And it was Stevie Wallace that wrecked him.

Since NASCAR Officials have repeatedly demonstrated in their inability to
read and actually comprehend their own NASCAR Rule Book obviously they would
also be unable to read the UseNet rec.autos.sport.nascar News Group.
