Loudon Anthem & Flag

Loudon Anthem & Flag

The singer's skill wasn't bad, but he was way too fond of his own
voice. At the second note of the anthem, I knew he would way overplay
it and sing it too slowly. And someone tell these people to quit with
the "how long can I sing one note" "free" at the end...,it 's
annoying, and just plain wrong.

Did anyone else notice during the anthem camera shots, the "American"
flag that had the red & white stripes going vertically next to the
blue field of stars, instead of horizontally? Some fans were from
Canada, but really, don't they know? Or was it some kind of political
statement I missed?

They used to do the Canadian National Anthem at Loudon also, so I
wonder if you are onto something, Nancy.

The woman that did the anthem while the Bahres owned the track did it
EVERY race as well as sang O Canada (and if I remember correctly, she
might have sung part of it in French, but I hate to admit that I was
still drinking back in those days and some things are just a
blur!! ;-)) No axe to grind, no glory hog, just pure and simple.

At least Bruton left the NH National Guard color guard as is!

As long as the blue field is in the upper left corner as observed, it's
correct protocol.

http :// frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=browse_usc&docid=Cite:+4USC7

(i) When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall,
the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to
the observer's left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be
displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of
the observer in the street.
