WOT: Wall.E Question

WOT: Wall.E Question

Can anyone identify what the pieces of "trash" are that comprise
Wall.E's eyes? In the movie, he does have spare parts, and they all
look the same.

It almost looks like some kind of muffler, except there is a lens in
them. Anyone?

Someone in another group calls them "binocular TV cameras," and since
I don't think I've ever seen those, I'll go with that answer.
