Next Champion

Junior would be a great NASCAR Sprint Series Champion but, he probably
won't be the champion this year.

Kyle Busch would also be a great champion, not as popular as Jr,
probably stands a good chance. One thing about KyB, his team seems to
have jelled too early, maybe a bad sign. KyB and team may be in for
the other side of racing, the bad luck side, and at the wrong time in
the season. I guess only time will tell on this one.

Alas ........... you're probably right. The good news is we'll all be spared
the additional 2,879 live interviews with Joonyer.

Not mice but gerbils. Also not in his pocket but somewhere darker.

Don't think Jr. has much of a chance. He just can't win races, and the one
race he's won in the last 3 seasons was a fuel mileage race. Don't think we
will have too many of those in the chase. So we have a guy with one fuel
mileage victory in the last 3 years as champion? Dream on....Give me Kurt
Busch or Casey Mears in that case. Besides, there must be others besides me
that have grown tired of the Dale Jr. and the other 42 guys show every week.

Two guys that are starting to look good are Edwards and Hamlin. They're
running strong, winning races (well, Hamlin dominated Richmond and could've
easily won a couple more). Fact is those guys can and will win more races
this year. They're hungry too. Edwards would be in second if wasn't docked
those 100 points early in the season (albeit he was cheating).

I'm admittedly not a Kyle Busch fan (and I am a Junior fan) but I
don't see either of them winning it. Kyle Busch has the better shot
though.

Don't get me wrong, I believe they both have the talent and (probably)
more importantly the equipment to do it, but each has their downfall.

Junior seems to peak too early in a race... and if he gets a car that
goes loose or starts handling awkwardly he seems to shut down. He's
not a very good "clutch performer" for lack of a better term. Late in
the race, he isn't what his father was... he's afraid to get rough and
fight for a win. He seems to settle for 2nd or 3rd instead of
fighting for 1st. This I believe is a good trait for him to have, but
can also cost him because he seems to give up positions late in the
race. Richmond this year seemed to change that a bit, but I think he
took it too far and got himself into a wreck.

Kyle Busch seems to either win or wreck. There isn't much in between
for him which I believe is both his greatest asset and his greatest
downfall.

So I think one of them can and possibly will win it, but when I look
at either one of them individually I can see reasons why I think that
they won't win it this year. However, like I said my money would be
on Shrub but my wish would be for Junior to win it.
